Here's the entrance to Condor Flats, which was our first destination of the
day (at 8am!)

Here's the Soarin' Over California building, with a big crowd already gathered.
We got right in the standby line and waited 60 minutes. All I can say is that
this ride is the showpiece of the park. The ride system, film, score, and "smells"
make this a not-to-be-missed attraction at DCA. For the best view, do your best
to get in row one -- you won't be disappointed. After we got off the ride, the
standby line was over 120 minutes long and the Fastpasses were already for the
evening! I think they sold out before 10am!

This
rocket engine will "fire up" every few minutes and douse unsuspecting
guests with mist. Later in this hot day, it became a favorite with "younger
aviators" (ride Soarin' and the pun will make sense).
